Duane Pinto, MD, MPH
Dr. Pinto is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and serves as the Chief of the Interventional Cardiology section and as the Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. For more than a decade, he was the Director of the Cardiology Fellowship program.
In addition to a busy outpatient practice, he performs complex coronary, structural, and peripheral vascular procedures with and without circulatory assistance. He is a training proctor for the newest transcatheter valves and colleagues around the world consult him for advice on the performance of complex cardiac procedures.
Dr. Pinto pursues research interests in outcomes studies and economic analyses for acute myocardial infarction studies, unstable angina studies and he contributes to device trials for both the coronary and peripheral circulations. He serves as a manuscript reviewer for
NEJM, JACC
,
Circulation
and is a member of the editorial boards of
Circulation, Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, and JACC.
After medical school at Georgetown, Dr. Pinto completed residency and fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess. Additionally, he completed an MPH master’s degree with an emphasis in clinical effectiveness and biostatistics from Harvard.
