Dr. Robert W. Yeh is the Director of the Richard A. and Susan F. Smith Center for Outcomes Research, Section Chief of Interventional Cardiology at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and the Katz-Silver Family Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. His area of investigation focuses on evaluating cardiovascular devices and therapies in both clinical trials and observational studies, with an emphasis on understanding methods to improve the value of novel technologies as they are used in clinical practice. Dr. Yeh has extensive experience working with both registries, including the American College of Cardiology’s National Cardiovascular Data Registries, and administrative claims databases, such as data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

In his work at the Baim Institute, Dr. Yeh was one of the leaders of the Dual Antiplatelet Therapy (DAPT Study), an international multicenter randomized clinical trial, and led the creation of the DAPT Score, a guideline endorsed bedside tool useful for making individualized decisions regarding antiplatelet duration in patients undergoing stent procedures. Dr. Yeh also is the principal investigator of the Extending Trial‐Based Evaluations of Medical Therapies Using Novel Sources of Data (EXTEND) Study, funded by the National Institutes of Health, which seeks to validate the use of pragmatically collected hospital and administrative data for use in randomized clinical trials.

Dr. Yeh received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University, and Masters in Health Policy from the University of London, a Masters in Business Administration from Oxford University, and an MD from Harvard Medical School.
